Wakeboarding is said to be the fastest growing water sport in the world. Muelle de las Carabelas (Warf of the Caravels) is a waterfront exhibition with life-size replicas of Columbus's three ships: the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa María, built for the 500th anniversary celebrations. The construction of Muelle de las Carabelas was carried out by architect, Pluvio Fernández Heredia, and inaugurated on 15 March 1994.

The district of La Malahá is located at the foot of the mining hill of Montevives. This area is home to some of the most important salt mines in Andalucía. These historic mines feed the waters of the Santapudia and Salado streams.

Jimena de la Frontera is a classic example of a traditional Andalusian pueblo blanco (white village), with all of the character that one can expect. The village is situated next to the Alcornocales Natural Park to the west, with open fields and green spaces of countryside to the east.
This village, located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, has an important factor which distinguishes it from all the other Alpujarra villages: its altitude. This factor allows visitors to enjoy the majesty of the Sierra Nevada, and at the same time, get some great views of the Mediterranean Sea across the Valle de Órgiva.
The chapel dates to 1511 and is cited among the hermitages belonging to the Archpriesthood of Iznatoraf. It has a single nave and lacks architectural value, due to the numerous reforms that it has undergone. Located 3km from the town centre, in a place popularly known as “Cerrico Pelón”, off the J-6220.
The village of El Gastor is just off the main road north-west from Ronda to Algodonales and a few kilometres from Zahara de la Sierra. It is also known as the ‘Balcony of the White Villages’ because from the two mountain peaks in its municipality, El Algarín and Las Grajas, there are magnificent views of other little villages in the area and the surrounding countryside.

Gobernador is a village in Granada province located at 1,000m altitude. Gobernador also has archaeological remains from Roman and Arabic times. The town is close to the Genil and Guadiana Menor rivers, and is situated at around 1000m above sea level. After the Reconquest, the town became the property of Governor Don Francisco de Molino, after whom Gobernador was eventually named.
Navahermosa is a small hamlet tucked away in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche, belonging to the municipality of Galaroza.It is ideal for lovers of rural tourism, especially hikers, with routes of varying steepness surrounded by beautiful countryside. It has around 60 inhabitants.
