This night club disco which is located on the Istan road near the Marbella Mosque above the Golden Mile. Housed in a purpose built Moorish structure with a vast dance floor, several bars and an outdoor terrace for al fresco cocktails. Seriously swanky venue which always delivers a euphoric punch.  Excellent for celebrity spotting  and a club for the seriously cool.  The open air Babylonia Palace restaurant which is situated beside the disco, is a luxurious and opulent venue.  Built and designed to recreate the patio of an Arab Palace, this fine dining restaurant seats 350 people, and is illuminated by hundreds of candles.  The restaurant and disco were open from June to September, every night from midnight until 6 am.

Olivia Valere opened on 25th July 1997. Recorded celebrities who have danced here are George Benson, Darryl Hannah, Barry White, Prince, Robert de Niro, Bruce Willis and Naomi Campbell, Prince, Chelsea Clinton, Ana Obregón, Zinedine Zidane, Enrique Iglesias, Norma Duval, Prince Harry, Princess Magdalena of Sweden, Mick Jagger, Bruce Willis, Luis Miguel, Maria Carey, Prince Albert of Monaco, Eva Loongoria. Paris Hilton make a bi-annual visit as guest DJ. 

Olivia Valere, born in Meknes, Moroccan, made her name in Paris, working as the PR for French Senate then in 1981 running an exclusive successful nightclub called "Apocalypse". Moving to Marbella in 1984 she ran her first disco in Puerto Banús (Gray d'Albion) which opened on the 4th of July, 1985. After two years she took over the the former famous Regine's discotheque (opened 1979) at the Hotel Puente Romano. On the 25th of July in 1997 she open her own nightclub from nothing can named it after herself - Olivia Valere. Astonishingly it was constructed in 72 days. The architect was Oscar de la Peña, interior design by Miguel Cancio, who also designed the Buddah Bar and Bar Fly in Paris, contractor was local; Juan Carlos, Mackintosh (leaving Marbella in the early 2000s for Tarifa and setting up the successful Tuna Fishing operation and leading brand). The restaurant called Palacio de Babilonia was added the following summer.

Olivia Valère passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 75, in her home in Paris after a battle with stomach cancer.

The nightclub continued to be run by her sons and family until the end of the 2025 summer season. They announced in April 2026 that whilst they would continue to run the restaurant and rename it in her honour as LOV Olivia Valere and open exclusive private dining areas called L'Exclusive Valere. 

The nightclub property has been leased to an expanding Mexican company who opened Bonbonniere Marbella to join Bonbonniere Tulum in Mexico and Bonbonniere Mykonos in Greece.
