West of Nueva Alcantara is the older established district of Las Petunias. Its principal road running down to the seafront is Avenida Las Petunias. The district is residential with the only commercial area in the block next to the main road. It is a mix of villas and townhouses.
The original and only apartment block, La Petunias, is located down by the sea front.
A slightly more modern development in the same district is called Los Angeles. It is wedge-shaped in plan, lying between Avenida Petunias and Avenida de la Coruña. It was constructed in five phases. Urb. Los Angeles features townhouses around several village-style greens.
On the seafront you will find a fine traditional restaurant called Taberna del Alabardero and beach club and bar, as well as Kala Kalua Playa chiringuito and an event venue called Wedding Palace. This discrict borders with Cortijo Blanco along Calle Pablo Picasso. On the seafront there is an small acess road and bridge over the Rio Guadaliza into Alzea Beach district.
