The Hotel Fuerte Marbella enjoys a superb beachfront location, while also being close to the old town - so you're in a prime spot for enjoying the beach, while also being just a few minutes away from shops and restaurants. Opened in 1957 this was one of Marbella's first hotels, and has over 50 years of heritage in the resort. The fuerte or fort that gives the hotel its name can still be seen in the grounds. Today it serves as a small museum and exhibition space.
Hotel Fuerte offers free WIFI and private bathrooms with amenities and a hairdryers for all rooms as well as views of the sea and 3 swimming pools. They also feature air conditioning, satellite TV and a free safety deposit box.
The hotel is surrounded by large gardens with lawns and palm trees, and there is also a sports centre with a seasonal indoor pool, Turkish bath and sauna to which access is free for guests. You can also use the padel court for an extra cost. As a family-friendly resort, the hotel's Forti Club for children aged from 4 to 16 offers fun, creative activities and entertainment, such as face-painting and handicrafts, performances, live music and children's shows.
The restaurant offers a buffet breakfast and a changing dinner buffet menu. It also has show cooking. Fuerte Marbella has a piano-bar, a coffee-shop and the Beach Club Restaurant which specialises in fish and paella. Guests can receive special prices if they wish to play at golf courses in the area, and free spinning, Pilates and yoga classes are available. The hotel also offers visits to the old town, Spanish classes and workshops for cocktail-making, Andalusian cookery and olive oil tasting.
Hotel Fuerte Marbella has a charging point for electric vehicles and is a very "ecofriendly" hotel with a strong enironmental philosophy, including an organic vegetable garden, reduced water usage and compost-makers. Parking is available for guests.
The hotel was closed for three years from 2000 to 2023 for a 31-million-euro refurbishment (14 million in construction, 10 million in equipment and 7 million in expenses) and reopened on Friday 15 September with an inauguration party, this 266-bedroom 5-star historic Marbella hotel which originally opened its doors in 1957. The interior of was designed by Jaime Beriestain features an 'Edge' restaurant onsite, headed by four Michelin-starred chef Paco Pérez.
