This Spa is situated in the village of Baños, in the Cortes and Graena district of the Province of Granada. It is 8 kilometers from Guadix and 50 kilometers from Granada city and sits at 950 meters above sea level. Main access roads are the Seville - Murcia motorway, turning off at Purullena.

The Spa is right in the heart of spectacular mountainous countryside. The spa has been open to the public since 1869 and its history follows a long Arabic, as well as Roman tradition, dating as far back as the 15th Century. The curative properties of the crystalline spring waters have been renowned and visited for many hundreds of years. The area is steeped in history, with churches, caves and old Moorish dwellings nearby - all well worth visiting.

The Cortes and Graena Town Hall and Thermal Waters of Graena, S.A run the Spa jointly. There are 45 baths, 2 pools (or plunge pools) with a maximum capacity of 5 people, 2 saunas or steam baths, 3 massage showers, 3 jet sprays, 2 inhalers, 3 massage rooms and a room for mud treatments. The staff is made up of fully qualified professional therapists and a medical doctor.

A warm, dry climate and long hours of sunshine at the fresh high altitude, offers perfect conditions for helping problems related to metabolic disorders and depression. The surrounding are also ideal as part of a convalescence programme.

The Properties of the Spa waters are: iron, Chlorides, Sulphates, calcium and magnesium.

Therapies offered for: Rheumatic problems such as; arthritis, Osteoporosis, sciatica, and neuralgic conditions. Respiratory ailments such as; Sinusitis, Asthma, Chronic bronchitis, etc., are also treated, as are skin problems, including, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. Other conditions treated are depression, anxiety, stress and neurosis.

Treatment methods used are: baths, massage shower, jet spray, steam baths and sauna, inhalations, mud baths and massage.
