Las Alpujarras

The region of mountain villages known as Las Alpujarras clings to the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada, cloven by deep, sheltered valleys and gorges which run down towards the Mediterranean. 'The Alpujarra', as it is popularly known, in the singular, is famous throughout Spain because of its unique mini-ecology.

Baeza is a compact provincial town with a kind of perpetual Sunday air. At its heart are the combined Plaza Mayor and paseo which, flanked by pavement cafes, are delightfully low key and atmospheric. It has about 15,770 inhabitants.

Nájera Palace, Antequera

The Nájera Palace has a brick façade, a cloistered courtyard, and a staircase decorated with Baroque plasterwork. Its tower, designed by Nicolás Mejías, exemplifies the predominant civil tower style in Antequera during the 18th century.

Marenostrum Fuengirola 2025

Marenostrum Fuengirola runs from 3rd May to 19th October 2025. Marenostrum Fuengirola is one of the larger series of outdoor concerts events on the Costa del Sol. Supported and promoted by Fuengirola Town Hall, it presents an extensive cycle of concerts that includes classical, rock, flamenco, rap, indie and pop music.
