Visitors will notice that the most characteristic element of the Los Pedroches landscape are the holm oak trees. The majority of these villages are small and sparsely populated who have fought to conserve their heritage and traditions. Some form part of the Ruta de los Castillos, including Belalcázar, with the Castillo de Sotomayor; Santa Eufemia, with the medieval fortress at Miramontes; and El Viso, with the Madroñiz fortress.

Dos Torres has a unique gothic style church, Iglesia de la Asunción, with a Mudejar-coffered ceiling. The town has about 2,400 inhabitants.
Conquista still maintains a wonderful tradition of local shepherds decorating their leather bags with the so-called talla de tablillas, which are drawings of flowers and geometric shapes. The town has about 420 inhabitants.
Belalcázar is set in a wonderful location, making it ideal for rural tourism and highlighted by great cultural character. It has about 3,300 inhabitants.
Añora offers many striking features, one of which is the typical casa de tira. There are many of these in the village centre alongside some of its other main features. The village has about 1,500 inhabitants.
Alcaracejos is the natural entrance to the Sierra de los Pedroches, with archaeological remains from the Neolithic era, as well as a number of Pre-Roman ceramics. It has about 1,400 inhabitants.
