Complejo Endorreico de Puerto Real Natural Reserve

This 839ha reserve is made up of three lakes, Taraje, San Antonio and Comisario, which are fed by rainwater and a nearby waterworks. From Puerto Real near Cadiz take the CA2012 towards Paterna de Rivera. The reserve is around 12km from Puerto Real, on the left-hand side of the road. At Km 9 on the CA2012 there is a track through pine trees.

Hotels in Sanlúcar de Barrameda

As popular for its historic and cultural heritage as for its beautiful beaches, Sanlúcar experiences a huge influx of tourism all year round, especially during the summer period. Built as a resort town to accommodate the huge influx of tourists that descend upon the Costa Almería during the summer period, Almerimar has no shortage when it comes to hotels and accommodation. Most hotels here have swimming pools and are built in a resort style, located very close to the sandy beaches.

Alcaidesa Beaches

Playa Hacienda is the expansive 4km beach to the west of Alcaidea, extending towards the town of La Linea. There is only access from Alcaidesa and La Linea, and it runs into Playa Atunara at the west and Playa Alcaidesa at the east. Being an isolated beach, it is quiet all year round.

Palacio del Marqués de Contadero

History

The history of Dehesa de Guadix originates during the Granada War, when the Catholic Monarchs granted land to Don Diego Fernández de Iránzo in 1491, a donation later confirmed by King Felipe V in 1751. The current name, meaning "pastures of Guadix," likely dates to the 16th and 17th centuries when the area was used for horse breeding.

Cristina Hoyos

Cristina Hoyos was born in the Alfalfa district of Seville on the 13th June 1946, and she has without doubt, made an undeniable imprint on the world of flamenco dance. As a child she would dance in the streets of Alfalfa and, when she was old enough, she started to perform in the many flamenco taverns of the area.

Lubrín - History

During the sixteenth century, in the time of Felipe II, there was an morisco uprising of in Granada city and the villages of the Alpujjaras. Following the uprising the inhabitants were exiled resulting Lubrín being left totally uninhabited. The town was later repopulate with 28 families from different parts of Spain, from Lorca to Galicia. The new town was founded in 1528.
