Home Insurance

Whilst not obligatory in Spain, most people choose to insure their home - it's usually the biggest investment they make in their lives. Also, in the event that your property has a mortgage, the bank will usually insist on the building being insured, and the bank's interest being noted in the policy. Be aware that banks cannot insist that you use their insurance provider, and in any case, it's far better to shop around.

With a wine-making tradition spanning more than 2000 years and with more vineyard acreage than any other country in the world, Spain is producing wines of increasingly good quality. Wine in Andalucia is produced in four "Denominación de Origen" areas. Beer (cerveza) is enormously popular in Spain, which is in fact one of Europe's major producers of lager.

Comares

One of the highest white villages in Andalucía at 739 metres above sea level, Comares can be spied for miles around, rising high above the surrounding countryside and resembling a natural extension to the craggy rock face. First time visitors may still find the approach baffling in the fact that the village keeps disappearing from view as the windy country roads dip and curve.

Accreditation

As you shop for an international school you will find a wide array of accreditations, certifications and memberships. The logos provided by the organisations behind these stamps of approval look wonderful, but, as a consumer, it is important to know what they really mean. Here is a guide to the most common – and a few of the less common
