Cueva de las Setas

Little is known about the Cueva de las Setas (Cave of the Mushrooms) until now, because nothing has been published. This information comes from the older locals who still remember it.

Salteras

Salteras was once inhabited during the prehistoric ages and also through Roman and Moorish civilizations, only being converted into a town after the Christian conquest. It has about 5,500 inhabitants.

T'ai Chi is an ancient Chinese mixture of exercise and meditation based on a gentle form of martial arts. It has been practiced for centuries to promote good health, longevity and spiritual awareness.

Team Spirit

Team Spirit is painted on the front and the south elevation of municipal sports pavilion J A Pineda. It is painted by Estepona artist Francisco Alarcón. The mural features members of the local basketball team.

Assets outside of Spain

If you are residente in Spain – basically, those who spend more than 183 days a year here, or whose business is based here (if in doubt, check with your asesor fiscal – tax consultant) – and you have capital and/or property outside Spain worth more than 50,000 euros, then you need to declare it to the Spanish tax authorities – as of 2013, for the año fiscal (tax year) 2012.

Carvajal, district of Fuengirola

Carvajal is Fuengirola's most easterly district which overlaps into Benalmadena. It is mostly known for the Carvajal beach and public promenade which runs the entire length of the district. There is a train station here on the Fuengirola to Malaga cercanias line.

Museums of Estepona

Estepona has several small museums devoted to its history and culture as as an agricultural town: Bullring, three of the museums are located in the Bullring oposite the entrance to the port (access via Calle Matias Prats), They share the same entrance. Eating In

If you are in Andalucia more permanently and have a kitchen to cook in, then keeping to your vegetarian diet will be much easier. Supermarkets such as Mercadona, Mas and Super Sol don’t have a huge variety of wholefoods and veggie-friendly ingredients. However, most stores stock a good selection of grains, pulses and cheese as well as soya.

Teatro Cervantes

This historic theatre was built between 1886 and 1921, with a long delay due to financing problems. The project was started by the local bourgeouisie which organisedmany tertulias (informal discussion groups), one of whom first adopted the indalo man as its symbol, now ubiquitous as the province's logo.

History of Almegíjar

The town's origins date back to the Neolithic era, as evidenced by artefacts found in the municipal area that date back to the time of settlement.

Casino and Circulo de Artistas

The building known as the Casino and Circulo de Artistas (Artists Society) is located on the north side of Ronda's Plaza del Socorro. This is a charming corner of the town where tourists enjoy their lunch, unaware that they are in the company of one of Andalucia's most famous historical venues.

New year, New life

Ermita Virgen del Carmen

The chronology of this chapel is difficult to pin down, but it resembles the qubbas or Muslim marabouts in its structure. They are buildings with a square plan, open on one side and crowned by a dome. Taking advantage of these ruins, in the middle of the nineteenth century.

Mijas Costa - Watchtowers

There are about 100 different watchtowers (Torre Vigia or Torre Atalaya or Torre Almenara) along the coast of Southern Spain. Some are of Moorish origins others from date from the later Christian re-conquest period.

Just to provide a rough idea regarding taxi prices from Malaga Airport to different locations, a taxi to center of Marbella will cost you around 70 or 90€ depending day or night tariff band. Travel to center of Estepona, on the other hand, would cost 105 or 125€, while a closer destination like Fuengirola costs around 35 or 42€.

Baccus Rock Bar

The Baccus Rock Bar in Calle de las Mercedes is a music bar that presents live bands at the weekends. The huge sound system pumps out classic rock music and they offer an exciting mix of live music and themed party nights. The bar has wonderful views of the Mediterranean and is popular with the middle aged Spanish crowd, although they are most welcoming to tourists and expat locals who enjoy a night of foot-stomping progressive rock.
