Puro Beach
Puro Beach club was located in the Laguna Village complex at Playa El Padron just east of the Kempinski Hotel and Estepona town.
Sadly, the Puro Beach and Laguna Village complex was destroyed by fire on the afternoon of Saturday 29-08-2020. The bush fire started 500m away on the mountain side of the coastal road in the area of the derilect amusement park called Prado World. It was caused by an electrical fault in a small house where squatters had laid a cable across the grassland 100m from another dwelling. A couple were arrested and later released on bail. Strong winds carried burning embers across the coastal road and onto the tiled roof of the Kimpinski Hotel and the thatched roof of the Laguna Village buildings. The thatched roofs quickly caught fire and, with no tile support, quickly collapsed, destroying the interiors. The Mayor of Estepona quickly announced that Laguna Village would be reopened for the summer of 2021. Demolition and cleaning of the site was carried out in November 2020. Reconstruction work began at the end of September 2022 and the steel structure and roof were completed by June 2023. Attempts to rush the opening for summer 2023 were abandoned and it opened in early summer 2024.
Puro Beach club's owners GAT purchased Laguna Village along with Pacha group and rebuilt and reopened as Laguna in Summer 2024, the new beach club in the centre is now called Sublim.
