Beach Clubs

In the up-market areas of Andalucia, a growing trend has evolved for a beach life quite different from the simple pleasures of buckets and spades, cool boxes and fold-away deck chairs. Many simple, traditional "chiringuitos" or beach bars are easily found dotted along the coast where you can enjoy local cuisine and get an ice cream, but non-locals are increasingly looking for a little more modern-day sophistication. Marbella and Sotogrande have gained reputation for being luxurious destinations beach facilities are in keeping with their lavish image.

Marbella is well known as the favourite destination in Andalucia amongst the international crowd and the rich and famous. Often referred to as Spain’s equivalent of Saint-Tropez, the city and many of the beaches here are well renowned for beauty, opulence and the greatest of luxury.

Beach Clubs are emerging as a new lifestyle concept in up-market resorts. They blend the ever increasing need for health and spirituality during the day with the urge to enjoy a vibrant and cosmopolitan party mood by night. Needless to say, the very essence of the up-market Beach Club includes a large element of spa treatments, yoga, massages and other health and beauty options. These aim at relaxing the body and soul, allowing people to feel relaxed and beautifully regenerated.

Beach Clubs offer all the luxuries a visitor or resident could ever dream of: stylish furnishings, including giant designer sun beds, infinity pools, trendy, comfortable bars and restaurants for lounging the afternoon or night away, cocktails, parties, not forgetting the fashionable crowd and chic boutiques. The Beach Clubs exude a mood of urban Miami meets Mediterranean and will offer the Asian and Mediterranean style cuisine so popular amongst today’s cosmopolitan travellers.

A beach club is not a 'club' in the sence of membership requirement. Most do not charge an admission as such however the sun bed rental and the drinks and meals are more expensive than those found on the bars on the beach itself. They are located on private land at the back of the beach not on the beach itself as all beaches in Spain are public. A beach club will usually have a swimming pool.

If you dream of luxury and pampering, check out the following Beach Clubs:
