Sotogrande - Beach Bars - Chiringuitos
(From west to east)
Paseo del Parque - west of River Guadiaro
Bunker Beach Club
Not really a Beach Club, but a laid back beach bar or chiringuito just over the west boundary of the Sotogrande estate on Finca Guadalquiton - the virgin beach and hinterland between today's Sotogrande and Alcaidesa resorts.
The WW2 bunker that sits beside the bar and that gives the Bunker Beach club its obvious name is authentic; one of hundreds that were constructed by Franco (reportedly using the labour of Republican prisoners of war) from here to Conil as a defence against possible allied invasion from Gibraltar. As it turned out, the bunkers were never needed. Other examples can be seen in La Linea and Tarifa, and in the ancient Roman city of Carteia where a bunker has been turned into a museum. The Bunker Beach Club opened for the 2017 season and was reconstructed again for 2018. Reviews unanimously hail the bar as a great location.

Between Sotogrande and Torreguadiaro
This is a wide stretch of beach between Sotogrande and Torreguadiaro. The sands are laid out in front of a series of old watchtowers, which give the beach and nearby village their name. Laguna de Torreguadiaro is a small nature reserve located nearby; there are boardwalks and birders' hides to explore. During the summer, a water sports station can be found on the beach, and a children's play area sits near the car park. Torreguadiaro Beach (from the car park to the Sotogrande breakwater; not the area in front of the Torreguadiaro village) is regularly awarded a Blue Flag and therefore has a Lifeguard tower, first aid posts and fortnightly water sampling posts. The car park behind the beach is substantial, but fills up quickly during the summer months.
