Vélez de Benaudalla

Vélez de Benaudalla is well-known by climbers as it has some of the best spots in the area to practice this sport. One example is the Garganta de los Vados, in the Guadalfeo River gorge. Nature lovers will also find places such as the Toba River valley, which separates the sierras of Chaparral and Los Guájares. It has about 2885 inhabitants.

In Almagen, a small village in the Andalucian mountains, Staffe nurses himself back from the brink of death. His idyllic new life in Spain appeals and Staffe is becoming a part of the community. One day his friend, Manolo, takes Staffe to visit Almeria and tells him about a body that has been found buried in an old greenhouse by the Mediterranean.

Láujar de Andarax

Láujar de Andarax occupies a hillside position at 920m. With a backdrop of rocky peaks and dense pine forest, it has stunning views over the fertile plain of the Andarax River. The town is famous for being the residence of Boabdil, the last Nasrid ruler of the Moorish Kingdom of Al-Andalus, who sought refuge in Láujar in 1492 after he was expelled from Granada following the city’s capture by the Catholic Monarchs.

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

This Robert Trent Jones design opened in 1969 and is recognised as one of Europe's finest courses. It hosted the World Cup twice and the Spanish Open three times and as well as the Mediterranean Open. Water is a major feature and must be crossed or avoided on 12 holes.

Pechina

Pechina plays an important role in the history of the province as it was once the dominant Bayyana documented by Arab geographers and historians, the origin and mother of the city of Almería.

Puente Califalf, Pinos Puente

The bridge, which is classified as a Caliphate bridge, has been designated a Site of Cultural Interest since 1922. While the exact date of its construction is unclear, the bridge has undergone various reconstructions and alterations over the centuries, suggesting that it may have been built during the Roman era (Fernández, 2013)

Aguadulce

Aguadulce is home to some of the best quality Spanish purebred horses, raised in the "Hermanos Maldonado" Stud. They have won various prizes from institutions, like SICAB, that recognise their prestige. It has about 2000 inhabitants.

Huelva Province Natural Parks

Although largely overlooked by foreign visitors, Huelva province contains some of Andalucia's most ecologically important wildlife areas, including the vast Doñana National Park, one of Europe's foremost wetland sites with an exceptional birdlife.

Lucainena de las Torres, more popularly known as Lucainena, has the privilege of lying adjacent to one of the most magnificent protected areas in Andalucía, the Parque Natural Sierra de Alhamilla. It has about 540 inhabitants.

Guarromán

Guarromán is one of a small group of ‘New Towns of Sierra Morena’ founded by King Carlos III in the second half of the eighteenth century. It was founded on the site of a roadside café, Venta de Guadarromán, and originally populated by Germans. Today, it has about 2,700 inhabitants.;

This is the mine which is open to visitors. It is10 km from Minas de Rio Tinto village - you drive in convoy leaving from the mining museum, following your guide in his vehicle (it's too complicated to explain on a map).
