Castillejar

At 766 metres above sea level, the stunning little village of Castillejar is one of the six Andalusian hamlets that make up the region of Huescar in the north east corner of the Province of Granada. With a population of around 2,000, this idyllic haven is tucked away and yet easily accessible at just 15 minutes off the A-92 Mediterranean autovía (motorway).

Club Lomas de Sancti Petri Golf

This modern course was designed by champion golfer Manuel Pinero, and is situated slightly inland between the Costa de la Luz coast and the Atlantic. It is close to the village of Chiclana and the Sancti Petri port complete with sailing boats. The greens and fairways are wide, and gently undulating. However, testing conditions are supplied from the water and sand hazards. The course is set among tropical gardens, numerous cork trees and fragrant pine forests.

Villafranca

Villafranca de Córdoba has an unusual festival called the Gran Huevada, celebrated on the 14 May, during which thousands of eggs are fried and shared among the community. The town has around 4800 inhabitants.

Monumento Plus Ultra

Plus Ultra was a Spanish Aeronautics Military seaplane that conducted its first flight between Spain and America, taking off on 22 January 1926 in front of La Rabida and arriving to Buenos Aires on 10 February 1926.

Bus service in La Peza

Marina Golf Mojácar

Opened in 2000 and designed by Ramón Espinosa, this course is located in a stunning position beside the Mediterranean. It is not overly long, but the garden-like setting with its multitude of trees and shrubs is incomparable, making it a joy to play at any time of the year. Sea views are a dominating feature all the way round the course and are especially remarkable from the 4th tee. Additionally there are four pitch-and-putt holes and an ample practice area with 25 tees, of which nine are under cover.

Hotel Viento 10

This family-run hotel, hidden away down a quiet street near the river (former name, Calle del Viento), has just seven slickly-designed rooms. Officially two-star rated, it’s a converted 16th-century house which marries original architecture – stone columns, arcaded patios - with contemporary design – angular furniture, natural materials and neutral colours.

Marble Entrance Arch, Casa de Pilatos

The marble Renaissance entrance arch of the palace which dominates the north side of Plaza de Pilatos (the palace's western façade) was designed and manufactured for Don Fadrique in Genoa in 1529; the Italian port city was an important trading partner of Seville.

Iglesia de la Virgen del Rosario

The earliest preserved document describing the Iglesia de la Virgen del Rosario (Church of The Virgin of the Rosary) dates back to the 16th century, specifically from 1572, in the Book of Surveys and Distribution of Cenes.

Espartinas

Espartinas has a unique appreciation for bulls and religion, hosting the Exposición Nacional de Escultura Religiosa (National Religious Sculpture Exhibition) every November and the many bullfights that take place each spring. Every year on the 8 September (day of the patron of Ajarafe), the Air Force put on an acrobatic aerial display. It has about 15, 000 inhabitants.
