Inland Hilltowns - Itineraries from Jerez airport

Itinerary: Jerez - Sanlucar - Doñana - Cadiz - Jerez - Or continue to White Towns, Medina Sidonia, Tarifa and Costa de la Luz (Day trip - 2 weeks)

From Jerez, head inland (A382) to the famous pueblo blanco of Arcos de la Frontera. From here climb up on the A372 into the Sierra de Grazalema, with its spectacular scenery, and to the town of Grazalema itself, a picturesque stone village set in lush hills, with excellent hiking in the surrounding hills.

From here it's a scenic if windy drive (A372/A376) through the mountains to Ronda, with its gorge and historic bullring. Stay in Ronda, head down the zig-zag mountain road (A376) to Marbella, with its nightlife and shopping, and along the coast (AP 7 fast, toll, less scenic, or A7 - slower, no toll, next to sea), stopping at one of the many beaches if you wish, to Malaga, where you can leave your hire car at the airport. Alternatively, why not take a day or two to see the city's world-class museums - especially the Picasso - and Moorish Alcazaba.
