Prado del Rey

A town located in the Sierra of Cadiz, part of the white town route and whose municipality boundaries stretch into the National Parks of Alcornocales and Grazalema. Around 4km from the town, located at the highest point of what is known as la Cabeza de Hortales, you'll find an important historical legacy - the Roman city of Iptuci.

Espera

This town in the Sierra de Cadiz, near Arcos de la Fontera, is part of the Ruta de Pueblos Blancos (the White Towns Route). It has its own 400-hectare nature reserve - the Reserva Natural del Complejo Endorréico de Espera is made up of three lakes, and is famous for its abundance of rare waterfowl - specifically, coots and ducks.

Paterna de Rivera

Sitting in the centre of the province of Cadiz, Paterna de Rivera is at the crossroads of the Ruta del Toro. Connecting Medina Sidonia to the south-west with Alcalá de los Gazules to the east, and Jerez de la Frontera to the north with Los Barrios to the south, this ‘route of the bulls’ runs through some of the most beautiful undulating countryside of Andalucia.

Rota boasts sixteen kilometres of fine beaches, including Playa de la Costilla and Playa de la Ballena. Many of them have been awarded due to their cleanliness and high standards and facilities. Popular among wind and kitesurfers, the town experiences an onslaught of tourists, especially during the summer season.

Algar

One of the many white villages in the province of Cádiz, Algar looks towards the north-eastern end of the extensive Guadalacacin reservoir, from where its inhabitants and visitors can enjoy spectacular sunsets over the water. Lying some 20 kilometres from Arcos de la Frontera, it is flanked by two of the most important natural parks in the province: Alcornocales and Grazalema.

Puerto Serrano

Puerto Serrano is a farming town in undulating countryside on the north-western edge of the Sierra de Cadiz. The town is situated just off the Seville to Ronda road, close to the border with Seville province, but is easily overlooked by those en route to either town. It is the starting point of the well-known Via Verde de la Sierra, a popular hiking and cycling route.

This private residential development is part of Conil, and its beach can only be easily accessed by those staying in the urbanisation due to parking. Facilities include tennis, paddle and volleyball courts, swimming pools, restaurants, gardens and children's play areas.

Being a very popular destination for tourists and lovers of the rich cultural and historic heritage that is kept in the town, it is no surprise that there is an abundance of hotels and places to stay here. The most unusual hotel in El Puerto de Santa Maria is the Monasterio San Miguel.

In Zahara de los Atunes, there is an abundance of accommodation options, ranging from self-catering villas and apartments to hotels and hostels. The vast majority of hotels in Zahara have direct access to the beach and views to the sea. There is everything from budget hostels to big, resort style hotels and smaller, boutique hotels, suiting everyone´s needs.

Hotels in Caños de Meca are in abundance and not hard to find. Luckily, this small, unspoilt part of the Costa de la Luz has managed to avoid high-rise resort buildings and the hotels here are small and very well-kept.

Villamartin

This white village, in the north of Cadiz province, is located in an area rich with wildlife, on the Embalse de Bornos (Bornos Resevoir), as well as offering many interesting historic sites. It has about 12,000 inhabitants.

Hotels in Sancti Petri

What was once a small fishing village, known simply as Sancti Petri, has now developed into one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Costa de la Luz. It is important to distinguish between the town of Sancti Petri, and the newer urbanisation of Novo Sancti Petri, just to the south. Both have an abundance of hotels and other accommodation options, including self-catering apartments and villas.

Hotels in Barbate

A very popular holiday destination, especially for Spanish holiday makers, Barbate has some of the most unspoilt beaches along the Cadiz coast. Due to the influx of tourists that descend upon the town during the summer season, there is a sufficient number of hotels, guesthouses, hostels and self-catering accommodation providing lovely places to stay.

An increasingly popular destination for surfers, local Spaniards and foreign tourists alike, El Palmar has a variety of accommodation options. The El Palmar hotels are mostly smaller, family-run guesthouses or hostals situated right on the beach.
