Trains to Fuengirola
Torremolinos train station is located just off Calle San Miguel underground the Plaza de la Nogalera.
Every 20 minutes local trains (known as cercanías) run east to Málaga (taking approx. 45 mns), stopping en route at Fuengirola and Malaga airport (AGP). Additional trains run just to Fuengirola. (approx. 15 mins). More information and train times on our Malaga to Fuengirola train page.
The reformed 7-million-euro train station was inaugurated in July 2022. The new station has been designed to be completely accessible to travellers with reduced mobility and includes an accessible route between the Plaza de La Nogalera and the concourse, with a new lift and two escalators, as well as a staircase. The lobby has been redesigned and now has a new customer service, sales and information counter, and there are also two lifts inside the station to assist passengers who need to use the underpass under the tracks to reach another platform.
Torremolinos was one of the few stations on the Malaga-Fuengirola C-1 line that failed to comply with accessibility standards in Andalucía. The single escalator was only operational for people leaving the station, which caused difficulties for travellers with mobility problems and those with pushchairs and heavy luggage.
Today, it is one of the busiest stations, used by nearly 5,000 passengers a day. This figure increases considerably at Easter and during the summer.
