Juan Martinez Montanes

Seville's Juan Martínez Montañes was better known in his day as "El Dios de la Madera" (the God of Wood). He produced many magnificent and lifelike sculptures and reliefs in polychromed wood. Montañes' depictions of the infant Christ, the crucifixion, the Immaculate Conception and his ornate carvings.

Cadiz City Train Station

Cadiz train station is located off Plaza de Sevilla on the eastern or bay side of the city near the port. The old station building is located behind the Aduana (customs) building and the trains depart from the new station building with is behind the old.

Antonio Montoya Flores, El Farruco, was a gypsy dancer of no schooling who performed the most deep-rooted gypsy style of flamenco dance. He was born in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid, in 1935 and is part of the great Montoya dynasty whose members include the guitarist Ramon Montoya, El Farruco`s grandfather.

History of Molvízar

Although there is evidence of human settlements in Jete since the Neolithic period, with burial caves and evidence of abundant lithic and ceramic industries, the origin of the current settlement dates back to an era in which Muslim populations lived in the area. Sara Baras

Sara Pereyra Baras was born in Cadiz in 1971 and from an early age received dance instruction from her mother. She had her first dance lessons at La Tertulia Flamenca de la Isla, in San Fernando, an academy that was run by her mother Concha Vargas and after this she joined Los Niños de la Tertulia Flamenco, where she served her apprenticeship as a flamenco dancer.

Washington Irving was the son of a New York merchant, he was trained in law but gave it up for the family business. When it collapsed he turned to writing but also figured proximately in the diplomatic world. In England he was secretary to the American Embassy.
