The Phoenix Social Club
The Phoenix Social Club is open to all nationalities but the lingua franca is English. It is a non political and secular charitable organisation & during these very difficult financial times, costs are kept down to a minimum for our members: In addition to a membership card there is also a loyalty card in which members accrue money off functions which is usually twice a year.
There are opportunities to make lasting friendships, to help each other & share information but primarily to have fun in a friendly and inclusive association.
As well as having a thriving social club, the Phoenix Social Club enjoys a range of social activities including trips and mini breaks. You do not have to be a member to join the trips, and, if you bring 10 friends on an event you can go for free, but conditions apply. There are often day trips to various interesting places and shopping trips to Gibraltar.
Currently, meetings occur every Tuesday between 12.30 and 2.30 pm upstairs in the SuperSol restaurant, Torre del Mar. The subs are €7.50 for couples, €5 for singles and a €5 pp joining fee.
Funds are raised annually for the members’ choice of Charity, which for 2011 is AVISA, The Volunteer Interpreters Association at the Comarcal Hospital and Help4Heroes in the UK.
