University of the Third Age

Live to Learn and Learn to Live with U3A Costa del Sol, Fuengirola.

The U3A is a worldwide, non-profit making movement with the aim of promoting learning for enjoyment and personal fulfillment amongst mature people. No qualifications are required or awarded. Informal study groups are led by members who have volunteered to share their particular interests or expertise with other members. It is run by members for members and the Group Leaders are volunteers who share their interests and expertise with others. The Costa del Sol U3A was established in 1997 and had a membership of over 400 during the 2017-2018 period.

The Costa del Sol branch of the U3A in Fuengirola organises structured courses from October to December (Autumn term) and January to May (Spring term) in a wide variety of subjects. Some limited and different activities are run from June to September (Summer term) and any information on events during this time will be on the group's Facebook page. Registration for a full year (October  - June  ) is 25 euros and 10 euros for a term (September to December or January to March or April to June). Fees can only be paid in cash to the group and the cost covers participation in all group activities that are run, subject to availability.

U3A Costa del Sol Fuengirola has over 40 different groups members can take part in, covering Science and Technology, the Arts, History and Spanish at all levels as well as physical activities including Table Tennis, Jive and Walking in Andalucia. Social activities include visits to Malaga Museums and a weekly Sunday coffee morning, together with monthly lectures on a range of topics.
