Amazingly 2025 will be the 43rd edition Zaidin Rock which is now the longest running free admission Rock Festival in Spain (and probably Europe). Location is the esplanade between Estadio Los Carmenes and the Palacio de Deporte in Zaidin district of Granada city. Free entrance, starts at 21.00 hrs.

The Guadalquivir river-bed is wide enough for small islands which today are only inhabited by birds. Long ago there used to be flour mills, of which some remains can still be seen to this day. The one near the north river bank was called Molino de la Albolafia.

The Cañón de las Buitreras is the strikingly named Gorge of the Vultures, after the colony of griffon vultures that nest in the area. The gorge itself is impressive, with often near-vertical sides at times reaching 200m high. In the bottom of the gorge is the Guadiaro river, which has eroded the limestone rock.
