Puente de Hierro polo ground

Puente de Hierro ground of Santa Maria polo club

The Santa María Polo Club has three separate grounds; Los Pinos, Rio Sotogrande and Puente de Hierro.

The grounds of Puente de Hierro are situated further inland, next to the Guadiaro River. There are three playing fields, two of them reserved during the International Summer Tournament for use in medium and low handicap matches. They were inaugurated in 1992 and it is here where the modern five star stable blocks for 39 horses are located.

There is ample parking, and extensive landscaped areas measuring 10 hectares and grounds to hold events and banquets.

Access is slightly more complicated. From the A-2103 between the Iron Bridge over the River Guadiaro and Guadiaro Village. 500m west of the bridge (Guadiaro village side) take the signed track that leads down alongside the orange groves and then under the bridge itself and onwards towards to the ample parking for the polo fields.
