City Parador Hotels in Andalucia

Many of Andalucia´s famous paradors are located in, or on the edge of, major cities, providing an ideal base from which you can explore the city where you are staying. Although these paradors are located in the city, they do not feel like it, as they provide exclusive accommodation away from the noise and pollution of the city.

Padules

Although small, Padules offers many highlights including an exciting natural environment to explore and its whimsical church, which features armchairs made from the trunks of chestnut trees. Visitors to Padules shouldn’t leave without trying the rosé wine made from a traditional recipe. It has about 410 inhabitants.

Beires

Beires is a perfect destination for a relaxing break or to enjoy the great outdoors. A place where you can relax in total tranquility, this rustic village forms part of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. It has about 110 inhabitants. Beires is divided into two districts by the Barranco del Nacimiento; Zambron and Beires. It is one of the least populated villages of the province.

Almócita

Almócita is found inside the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. The town’s centre is flooded with Moorish architecture which still remains despite the Jewish quarter situated underneath it. It has about 170 inhabitants. Almócita was founded by the descendants of Tubal, surviving the Arab occupation and still preserving the Jewish quarter in its Barrio Bajo.

El Puerto de Santa Maria

Like so many towns in Andalucía the approach to El Puerto de Santa María along the main road is lined with garages, industrial plants and run down buildings. Keep going and cross the River Guadalete on the NIV (if coming from south) and turn into Calle Ribiera de los Mariscos and park in one of the car parks signposted.

Ohanes

Ohanes was the residence of the Catholic Monarchs when Boabdil (the last King of Granada) was overthrown by the Christians. It has about 580 inhabitants. The first evidence of human presence in the area dates back to the Neolithic era, in the so-called Culture of the Caves, where the Nieles and Almecena caves particularly stand out. Ceramic and imprint remains from the fifth millennium BC have been discovered.

Barcelo Carmen Granada (formerly Sercotal Carmen)

This four-star hotel is positioned on one of Granada’s main boulevards, close to the shops and cathedral. The 222 guest rooms have clean, unfussy, modern décor in muted tones accented by lamps, throws and cushions in bright reds and blues. The junior suites have their own private terraces. The reception is a vintage-contemporary mix of marble floors, leather sofas and glass tables.

Hotels in Marbella

As one of Spain's most exclusive holiday destinations, beloved of the titled, rich and famous, Marbella has a number of luxurious hotels. Many of these are right on the beach, but some are just inland, offering more privacy and spacious surroundings. The most exclusive and sought-after stretch is the so-called "Golden Mile", between Puerto Banus and Marbella.

Atalaya-Isdabe, Estepona districts

Atalaya-Isdabe occupies the easternmost end of the Estepona municipality, lying between Avenida Hacienda del Sol to the west and the Río Guadalmina to the east. The coastal side of this district developed after the beachfront Atalaya Park Hotel opened, and the area now features a wide range of villas, apartments, and hotels.

Molina Lario Hotel

With an original 19th-century façade, this hotel has 103 airy, sound-proofed rooms decorated in modern, minimalist style – a cool palette of white, grey and Book now!black. Each room has a sound system plus bathrobe, slippers and umbrella to use during your stay, while the more luxe ones come with free chill-out CD and daily newspaper. Some larger rooms have four-poster beds, while others have balconies and city or port views.

Hotel Salles Malaga Centro

This seven-storey hotel offers two styles of rooms, to cater for all tastes: traditional, which have warm colours – oranges and purples, and pine furniture; and modern, which are bold monochrome, with strong, graphic print fabrics, and furniture in either black or white, accented by splashes of red. Some of the 147 rooms have balconies, and some have views towards the mountains inland from the city.

Barcelo Malaga

This hotel is positioned between the old centre and the beach, inside the AVE station which links the city by high-speed train with Seville, Cordoba and Madrid. Ideal for a morning departure or evening arrival, it offers the closest rooms within staggering distance of the train platform; also handy for the airport, which has a train service to the station. The 221 sound-proofed rooms are decorated in chic minimalist white, with pixel-type mosaic designs.

AC Malaga Palacio Hotel by Marriot

This hotel, part of the AC group, is located on Calle Larios, the central shopping street of the city, in a sleek 1960s corner building. It has 214 rooms, decorated in a warm, contemporary style with wood Book now! and neutral tones; some rooms have balconies; higher rooms are quieter, as they’re further from the busy, sometimes noisy street – you are right in the centre of the city. The minibar has free water, soft drinks and beer.
