Cultural cities itinerary from Malaga Airport
This route takes you from the coastal city of Malaga, south-west along the coast to San Pedro, then inland up the spectacular windy mountain road to Ronda. Next, you to continue to Algodonales, also in the Sierra de Cadiz, before heading south-east down to the plains, and over to Jerez, home of sherry, flamenco and beautiful horses. A fast motorway will take you north to Seville - try the tapas and don't miss the Giralda.
From the Andalucian capital, you take another 'autopista' (motorway) to historic Cordoba, to the north-east, then a national road south to Antequera, with its Roman ruins and prehistoric dolmens. From here, head east by motorway to Granada, where the Alhambra is the highlight. Head south again, down to the coast and the resort of Motril, on the Costa Tropical. Then it's a scenic drive west along the Mediterranean back to Malaga.
